I totally agree about nature and the ability to feel connected when experiencing what is usually right outside our doors. Our family this month and most of April are spending our time, thoughts and energy getting back to what we feel is important: it's been interesting, insightful, and a time of renewal. Thanks for the challenge at the end of your post. While I do spend the time doing, I often forget to really listen for truths. Enjoy your month! Abstain...Definitely easier to abstain than embrace. Abstaining can be a simple matter of filling a void with a thought or spacious emotion, whereas embracing requires {action} yes! as well as {acceptance}. And I tend to experience resistance to basic acceptance, as if debate is a "normal" state of mind. I have a really close friend that practice meditating and at first it was really hard. I would giggle for a bit, then try to get comforatable and then I would finally reside my mind to the concept. My friend and I usually talk about what we want to focus on and then begin. Then its easier to stay forcused. One time I was so deep that I actually experienced a moment with my mother. Now I know this is all subconcious but it was so real. Very hard to explain. I just hope that in this period you can experience deep renewal. Its wonderful. Best of luck with this.tbrissiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01698385254766050368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688429301254108588.post-14553258635237833822011-02-01T22:36:39.236-08:002011-02-01T22:36:39.236-08:00Tanisha,
Thank you for such a thoughtful response...Tanisha, <br />Thank you for such a thoughtful response to my post! Well I completed my 31 days and as you can read from my following posts, it wasn't too difficult for me. Honestly what I gained the most was simply thinking about when I drink and my hope is that I'll continue to think before I choose to have a drink. As well as an awareness of how much money I save when I don't drink!! And yes true true about three hour dinners.. I have still had them, but truth be told I enjoy the overall experience of dining at a nice restaurant... and enjoying the experience of sharing a bottle of wine. I hope you'll keep reading my process through the next 11 months of what I add or take away. Love you friend!!Joey Paynterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01801608008831642577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688429301254108588.post-68625081877926496312011-01-27T12:48:41.962-08:002011-01-27T12:48:41.962-08:00Joey,

Anything? I must say I am sure that this will be an adventure. And just so you know....If you really want to have 3 hr lunch/dinner they are still possible. Sometimes they take a little longer to get to that easy feeling but they do come. And when they do, wow! Actually, I was really afraid of this point too. But they get better. They are more pure! So hang in there or come home and we can try for a 3 hr lunch/dinner and definantely now drinks for me. I also much include that I look forward to hearing about your spiritual growth through this process. I know that when we remove clutter from our lives God shines brighter. So best of luck. I love you and you are such a beautiful person inside and out.tbrissiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01698385254766050368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688429301254108588.post-1806400489186780652011-01-26T17:48:13.686-08:002011-01-26T17:48:13.686-08:00that's hilarious Anna!!!that's hilarious Anna!!!Joey Paynterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01801608008831642577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688429301254108588.post-85276152541987207042011-01-22T10:19:47.336-08:002011-01-22T10:19:47.336-08:00This brings to mind the most poigniant need I'...This brings to mind the most poigniant need I've ever felt for a stiff drink: the night I found out I was pregnant!
